comments:

THANK YOU CLOSURE! it never sat right that members who wud cheat in games wud still be able to win prizes ;( so i like them tying up the loose ends by ensuring fans that not only are the aforementioned resolutions being solved, but also minghao and mingyu (who made a deal at the end of surprise don't lie) ended up turning in their prize money as well. if i was team not logical, i'd be bitter too! (they also bring up a deal made with hyunseok pd-nim during another episode that i don't recall, but i haven't gotten there yet...)

on one hand i do think cheating shouldn't be allowed. i never feel happy when it happens even when it's my fav joshua doing it and it's funny seeing those things backfire. small lies like jun's trickery should be okay (i shud probably see mousebusters next...) but on the other hand they DID end up getting two more episodes out of team hot pack's stunt (eyes that see the truth and omniscient interfere). so should anything be allowed in the name of fun...? (it depends)

because the thing is. this episode IS really funny. i liked how small hoshi's punishment was because even if he cheated he IMMEDIATELY died. i liked how the prosecutors basically functioned as a peanut gallery in both episodes. i liked how hoshi's penalty was a lowkey callback to know/don't know.. i love how they make an effort to have jun and minghao speak more, but it's difficult when neither of them know how to work around the wordy legal jargon. i love EVERYTHING about both witness stand scenes (like the smash cut to joshua, joshua's '선서!', and the mind-reading bit where hoshi screams "THEY'RE THE SAME!!"). this episode is just really really funny and i'm not going to lie a lot of the heavy lifting is because of the editing. i enjoyed this a lot more than i remember.

ranking:

concept: 7; it's not much, but it ties up a lot of loose ends from other episodes (The cheating concern) while also being a fun episode in and of itself

chemistry: 10!! shoutout moments

enjoyment: 9; i laughed a lot actually
