premise:
dino and seungkwan, the losers of no rules (joshua having been exempt after winning blackjack), are subject to a penalty of having to go 3 days only spending 12,317 won ($9 USD). preceded by a game where seventeen go through a supermarket, getting as close as they can to spending exactly 12,317 won.

again, i cannot believe i am at the point where i'm caught up enough on the (current) season of gose that i can watch the episodes as they are coming out!! this literally hasn't happened in YEARS, i was able to watch part 1 and 2 on the day part 2 came out!
that being said, these penalty episodes (such as point of omniscient interference and pie in the sky) have never been super entertaining to me since it generally is kinda just one flat concept. i'm actually surprised the punishment didn't end up being something with a horror concept as the production team alluded to the punishment being scary which it... kinda isn't. i did really enjoy the first part, and i can tell it was something the team wanted to implement, but they knew it wouldn't generate enough content. i loved seeing how each member treated the game, from minghao lowkey ignoring the rules and just buying all the groceries he was going to get anyway, to mingyu and vernon both just buying multiples of a single item, to joshua trying to sabotage everyone else and getting bitten in the butt by the end. that was actually a pretty fun minigame!
the rest of the episode is generally a vlog style of seungkwan and dino carrying their punishments out while seventeen proceed with their daily idol schedules, which was definitely a change of pace. if seventeen are calling back to the gose roots, this definitely aged me as a carat because i remember the very first going seventeen episodes being posted and they were just that - seventeen going through their daily idol schedules - over 9 years ago. it's not a typical going seventeen episode - most of the members aren't even in most of it - but i'm going to rank it as if it is. the score for this one doesn't actually mean anything though.
p.s. the reveal that after this episode aired ppl saw joshua's mom scolding him in yogurbrick for not knowing grocery store prices LMFAO

concept: 7; in terms of penalty episodes, it's better than pie in the sky but i wouldn't watch it again over point of omniscient interference... except for the opening full group sequence.
chemistry: 3; goated in the first 10 minutes, but the rest of the episode is solely on dino and seungkwan. other members do make slight appearances, though.
enjoyment: 6; i wasn't super entertained, but it was good company while i was doing work for my capstone project.
overall - 5.3/10
