going seventeen | innocent until proven guilty
premise:
seventeen participate in a courtroom case where a fictional s.coups is framed for murder within a prison, and they are split into s.coups' defense and prosecution.
comments:
man FUCK this episode. no time for play because we gotta do all this scripted shit. ZERO chemistry at all. this MAY be the very first zero chemistry score because there is literally no room for the members to interact with each other in a natural way. it's like someone on production really wanted to make a courtroom thriller and it's like. okay. so why are we putting this in GOING SEVENTEEN of all things though.
the thing is i've never really been a fan of these episodes where seventeen are given roles and are meant to solve a mystery - like bad clue, ego, or grudge - even though i know these episodes are pretty popular in korea. but at least the members were able to either work as a team or sabotage and mislead each other to throw them off the trail. this one kinda has nothing. they don't even solve the mystery so it's expo dumped to us at the end. WTF? such a strange decision to throw into the going seventeen mix.
ranking:
concept: 1; like i guess? they could've made the jump and made this ace attorney style with clues and hints and objections but nooo we're serious
chemistry: *ZERO!! gives you NOTHING on seventeen aside from like, the funny detail that woozi, as a prosecutor, would still wear a backwards hat.
enjoyment: 1; genuinely now the least favorite episode of going seventeen for me.
overall - 0.6/10
