and what a premise! so so super fun and rewarding for people like me who are obsessed with the show and watch it religiously (fun fact: my birthday cake for my 17th birthday was the going seventeen 2020 title card). such a beautiful treat for those who pay attention to the show to test the members on whether or not they watch the show, or if they just film and call it a day. the questions are super creative as well - i loved seeing running gags rear their heads like "which episode did joshua not get wet in" and "which one of these characters was not in wonwoo's diary," but also more technical, difficult questions getting into the nitty-gritty, like "which episode did woozi not sing the drone song" and "which color pair from going rangers isn't right?"
from the nature of the episode of course the chemistry is low when there's only one member being tested at a time and the rest of the members are split into two in the peanut gallery. after all, the main goal of the show is just answering questions. it was clever having minghao and jun, the players who are worst at this (and would likely be quietest in the 'green room') competing first before switching out, but members who do still shy on the quieter side get a bit overlooked here -- joshua and wonwoo in particular didn't really speak too much this time.
despite that, i had so much fun watching this and being able to test myself alongside the group. if they do a second try on going millionaire - and i hope they do - i really want them to incorporate a team aspect more, maybe family-feud style instead of like this.
ranking:
concept: 10; for every reason above
chemistry: 4; the biggest weakness is that there is pretty much no stakes relying on teamwork between the members. it is mostly in the hands of the member in the hot seat.
enjoyment: 9; had so much fun testing myself here along with the members and was surprised at the difficulty (and ease, for some) of the questions. would love to see a second installment with a new set of members (the highest praise for a gose ep, as you may be able to tell by now)
